Announcements :

• IF YOU HAVE NOT turned in TourBuilder or your PJ essay from March, they will be zeroed out Thursday by 11:59 p.m.
• All assignments for our class will be due Thursday, May 21st.
• 6th grade Chromebook and material collection at Ross Friday, May 22nd from 10-1.
• Remember classwork is graded on a week-to-week basis. You can NOT go back and make-up any assignments.
• There will be NO Google Meet this week. I will see you Friday when you turn in your materials.

Here is what we are doing for our LAST week of school:

1. Finish novel- Ch. 19 & 20 (pg.223-249)
2. Google Classroom-Flip Grid Monday Chat
3. Flip Grid-Book Review-Submit Video (more info in our Monday Chat on Flip Grid).

Week 36 May 11th-15th

Announcements: 
Extra Credit Book Report-Last day to turn in an extra credit book report is Friday, May 15th!  No late reports will be accepted. You will find the report form in our Google Classroom. You must take an AR test/screenshot of the score, email to me with a 70% pass before you begin to work on the written report.
Chromebook/Books returns: The day slated for ALL 6th-grade school-owned material returns is on Friday, May 22nd. More information will be coming on this from Mr. Hibbard...stay tuned.

Remember all work is due Friday at 11:59 with Saturday as a grace period. Once grades are entered Sunday, the school week ends. I will not go back and grade work from prior weeks. 

Here is what we are doing this week: 

1. Read Chapters 15-18 in WTRFG (pgs.169-222)
2. Audio is in Google Classroom but you can also search the chapter audio via YouTube.
3. Quiz-WTRFG Ch.15-18- Google Classroom (Google Forms Test). 
4. Study Sync- Homophones
5. Google Meet-THURSDAY 10am

Announcements:

6th grade this Tuesday from 9-12 come pick-up any personal belongings you left behind in your P.E. lockers. 

● A drive-thru set up in front of the school. 

● Parents/students are to remain in their vehicles. 

● School staff will be wearing appropriate PPE and will deliver personal belongings to the vehicle.
6th grade you need to vote for who you want to be your student council reps! Go to our school Google Classroom on Tuesday from 8am-5pm and VOTE!!!

Remember all work is due Friday at 11:59 with Saturday as a grace period. Once grades are entered Sunday, the school week ends. I will not go back and grade work from prior weeks.

2. Google Classroom-Comprehension questions Ch. 6-10-due Friday by 11:59
3. Quizlet- Ch 6-10 (Flashcards, Learn, Write, & TEST) Do NOT due SPELL!  If you complete Gravity and Scatter, you can get 5pts extra credit.
4. Google Meet- Friday at 10:00 am. It was great to see some of you who joined in. We will be discussing our reading of the novel.

Due: Nothing-Unless you haven't submitted your PJ essay or Tourbuilder; I have marked grading complete. Please turn these assignments in ASAP. I will be zeroing out soon. These two assignments are NOT apart of our shelter-in-place grading policy as they were assigned well before we left school. 

I hope you all had a nice Spring Break and enjoyed Easter with your family!  I miss you all and wish that we were starting back to class in person. However, let's stay positive and be thankful we get to start ONE of my FAVORITE novels...WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS! YAY!

This week's educations opportunities!!!

• In Google Classroom you will see the novel in PDF-so you can follow along. I have some old copies of the novel that were in my classroom library. Email me and I can arrange for pick-up if you'd like to hold a book. 
• You will also see the audio to the first 5 chapters in GC so you can listen (like we do in-class). 
• You will also see comp questions for ch. 1-5 in GC-Due Friday
• Quizlet Vocab has been assigned for Ch. 1-5 (Flashcards, Learn, Spell, Test) Write is Extra Credit. 
• ALL WORK IS DUE FRIDAY by 11:59.

• The book exchange has been postponed....sorry!  I will have a copy of the novel for you in Google Classroom at the conclusion of Spring Break

• As a reminder, make sure if you end up turning in an assignment after the due date send an email to me so I am aware. I can then grade, input your grade for credit. 

1. This week is a short week for us and we will be getting prepared to start our novel after Spring Break. Please go to Google Classroom and listen to the Wilson Rawls author info link I sent.

Due: You should have turned in your Luke Wanted Poster and StudySync grammar assignment. If you have yet to submit these assignments, please do so ASAP!

I sure have missed seeing each and every one of you! I hope you are doing your part to stay safe by staying home during this time of shelter in place. This week's assignments will be discussed below in detail. If you have questions, feel free to email me with your questions. Great job to those who are actively participating in getting your classwork done. I AM PROUD OF YOU!  It is important that we stay connected and carry on with classwork. 1. StudySync-Possessive Pronouns-make sure to take your time reading over the model examples. Possessive Pronouns can be tricky!

1. FLIP GRID CHALLENGE! I need to see your faces and we need to be getting outside and moving!  We will have a Period 1, 2, 5, 6 challenge. ~Extra Credit reading option- read a book you haven't previously read before, take an AR test and fill out the online book report for extra points in the writing category. Details are in Google Classroom

~ All assignments are due by Friday at 11:59. The extra credit reading will remain until the end of our COVID-19 Shelter in Place.
